Biography:
Thomas O'Flaherty
3 Times Salsa Rico champion, UKA Diploma in Salsa, Mambo, Cha,cha cha and Merengue.
British Dance Council member, as well as training in Brasilian, Argentinian and
Cuban dances. Presently teaching Caribbean and Latin dances in and around
Birmingham.
Breakdance and street dance 1983 with dance group Street Rock. African dance, training
with Kokuma 1992. Salsa and latin dance: 1995, Founded Spirit Salsa dance co
2001. Commenced Latin Caribbean Dance Project, to help unemployed and students
learn new skills in dance and music 2003. Teaching Experience International
Spain, Valencia, Venga Aca night club 1999, France, Lille, Sabor Latino 2000.
Taught dance workshops for Eversheds corpoarate entertainment 2003. Produced
shows in Coventry Carnival 200/1/2/3 and The Birmingham Artsfest and Latin
American festivals 2002/3,Pontins International festival and Walsall
Illuminations.
Teaching style: Friendly with lots of energy and patience. Focusing on style, rhythm and a sense of fun.
